Jacqueline Hoying is an assistant clinical professor and director of the MINDSTRONG program at The Ohio State University College of Nursing. Dr. Hoying is a behavioral intervention scientist and board-certified health and wellness coach who focuses on cognitive-behavioral research and facilitation that promotes optimal well-being, increases resilience, and reduces stress, anxiety and depression among diverse populations. She spearheads facilitator training workshops nationally to scale the evidence-based, cognitive-behavioral skills-building programs MINDSTRONG and MINDBODYSTRONG to help college students and healthcare clinicians reduce anxiety and depression. Dr. Hoying’s scholarship is predicated on developing a sustainable, scalable model through research and participant outcomes. She also serves as co-investigator on multiple grants, most recently evaluating a mental health intervention for nurses through a grant via the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention and National Institutes of Health. In her teaching, she offers innovative curriculum and course design with an evidence-based course to support student mental health, coping and resilience. Dr. Hoying previously held executive leadership roles at Mount Carmel Health System (VP of patient care and chief nursing officer) and Premier Health System (executive director of nursing). Dr. Hoying holds a PhD and MS from The Ohio State University and a BSN from Capital University.
