Heidi L. Lindroth

Heidi L. Lindroth is a clinician-nurse scientist and ultramarathoner with expertise in neuroscience, agile science, and Artificial Intelligence. Her vision is a “world without delirium,” an acute confusion experienced after a health-related event such surgery or critical illness. She is funded by the National Institutes of Health and has contributed trailblazing work in the prediction, measurement, and tracking of delirium severity over time in aging adults. She leads transdisciplinary teams in the development, testing and dissemination of brain care innovations to achieve her vision. Dr. Lindroth serves on the American Delirium Society Board of Directors and is the current co-Chief Innovation and Implementation Officer for the society. From her Senior Associate Consultant position at Mayo Clinic, she co-leads a global delirium research team that conducts research and works to raise global awareness on delirium on World Delirium Awareness Day. She earned her PhD from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and completed a T32 postdoctoral fellowship and graduate certificate in agile science at Indiana University.
