Dongmei Wu is the Director of Nursing at The Fourth People's Hospital of Chengdu and a Nursing Scientist at The Clinical Hospital of Chengdu Brain Science Institute, MOE Key Lab for Neuroinformation, University of Electronic Science and Technology of China. Dr. Wu's research addresses the global challenge of mental health resource shortages by leveraging existing strengths. Her studies on the neural mechanisms of reminiscence therapy provide potential optimizations for global healthcare practitioners to improve the therapy based on different brain regions. Additionally, the "Peer Family Mutual Support" model, tailored to enhance adolescent mental health amid limited resources, serves as a valuable reference for countries worldwide. She leads the development of long-term care insurance, engages in government dialogues, and advances ongoing legislation to improve mental health service accessibility. She is dedicated to minimizing restrictive measures in a society that allows protective restraint for those with mental disorders. Leading in 11 national and regional committees in China, Dr. Wu serves as an expert reviewer for the National Natural Science Foundation. Additionally, Dr. Wu contributes as a peer reviewer for 15 SCI-indexed journals. Dr. Wu earned her BSN, MSN, and PhD degrees from the West China School of Nursing, Sichuan University.
