Dewi V. Brown-DeVeaux

Dewi V. Brown-DeVeaux is a Nurse Executive at NYU Langone Health driving transformative change in diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) through mentorship and broad-based community engagement. These efforts include spearheading a leadership minority mentoring program in both clinical and academic settings. As President of the Greater New York City Black Nurses Association, Dr. Brown-DeVeaux advocates for improved healthcare access in under-resourced communities by forging collaboration with local, regional, and national partners. Outcomes include contribution in nurse practitioner-led clinics for underserved communities, mentorship to the next generation of underrepresented nurse/nurse leaders, health equity grants, and engagement in legislative advocacy to advance health equity at the federal and state levels. Her leadership extends to the New York Organization of Nurse Leaders, as a board member, contributing to strategic initiatives that enhance nursing leadership and elevating patient care standards. As a member of the ANA Code of Ethics 2025 ReVision expert panel, she plays a pivotal role in updating and maintaining ethical standards in nursing practice nationwide. Educationally, Dr. Brown-DeVeaux holds credentials from Yale University, New York University’s Rory Meyers College of Nursing, Molloy University, and Stony Brook University, reflecting her commitment to education, evidence, excellence in healthcare and communities she serves.
