Dawn M. Goldstein is an Assistant Professor and the Program Director for the Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) concentration program at Michigan State University (MSU), College of Nursing (CON). In addition, she is a board-certified psychiatric-mental health nurse practitioner with expertise in mental health and substance use disorders across the lifespan, specializing in trauma, depression, and suicidality. Dr. Goldstein prior research has been funded by NIH, HRSA, MDHHS, and a Nursing Clinical Scholars Fund award utilized her expertise in interprofessional education, telehealth for mental health treatment and interventions focusing on specialized populations. She services on the Mental Health Association in Michigan Board of Directors and Health Policy Committee. Her clinical practice as a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner has primarily been in the community settings, mainly serving vulnerable and underserved populations like LGBTQ+, uninsured, immigrants, military service members, and Veterans with psychiatric disorders in-person or a telehealth platform. As a retired member of the United States Army Reserves, Army Nurse Corps, she served our country for over a decade as a psychiatric nurse practitioner. Dr. Goldstein received her BSN and MSN from the University of Phoenix, and her post-master's certificate in PMHNP and a PhD from the University of Arizona
