David A. Reinhart is the Director of Nursing Education Emory Healthcare Perioperative Services Enterprise. Dr. Reinhart is responsible for training and education of procedural areas across the Emory system, (OR/Pre and PACU, Endo, Cath lab and IR). Dr. Reinhart’s career focuses on training and education of the critical shortage of perioperative and procedural nurses utilizing evidence-based standards. He played a pivotal role in creating a groundbreaking Perioperative (Periop) 202 residency program at Emory Healthcare. Adopted by 145 health systems, the program effectively trains aspiring perioperative nurses. His ongoing dedication and collaboration with the Association of periOperative Registered Nurses (AORN) led to his 2023 election to the National Board. Dr. Reinhart holds a DNP from Georgia College and State University, MSN from University of St. Francis, and an MBA from University of Dallas.
