Darcel M. Reyes is an Associate Professor at Lehman College. Dr. Reyes is dedicated to promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI). Her clinical practice focuses on serving minority populations with HIV (PWH). As the editor of NJ HIVLinks, a newsletter for clinicians in the NJ/NY area, she ensures that each issue highlights the voices of PWH and the latest advances in HIV science. Her research revolves around understanding health equity from the perspective of PWH and their healthcare providers. She was a fellow of the NYS Health Equity Clinical Leadership Institute and the AACN's DEI Institute in 2024. Dr. Reyes developed DEI workshops at Lehman College to address health disparities in the Bronx and has also created a course to train STEM students in social justice advocacy. In 2025, she is set to become the first Latina President of the Association of Nurses in AIDS Care. Her contributions as a Jonas Scholar and a member of the Jonas Advisory Board exemplify her commitment to nurturing future healthcare leaders and scholars. Dr. Reyes received her BSN from the College of New Rochelle, an MSN from Hunter College, and her PhD from the Graduate Center of the City University of New York
