Courtney E. Sullivan is Chair of the International Society of Paediatric Oncology Nursing Network (SIOP) and an Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality T32 Postdoctoral Scholar at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB). Dr. Sullivan has provided visionary leadership and strategic oversight of programs, projects, and initiatives on behalf of children and adolescents with cancer, globally. She expanded St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital’s global nursing outreach from 12 to over 40 countries, established the Latin American Nurse Educator Network, St. Jude-VIVA Asia Pacific Nursing Institute, and co-led the development of the Association of Pediatric Hematology/Oncology Nurses (APHON) Spanish chemo/biotherapy certificate courses in Latin America and laid the groundwork for Portuguese and Russian versions. She is a member of the SIOP Board of Directors and chair of the Nursing Network, past chair of the APHON Global Outreach Committee, and advisor to WHO’s Global Initiative for Childhood Cancer. As a postdoctoral scholar at UAB, she is establishing a core set of nursing-sensitive quality indicators for pediatric oncology to measure practice improvements and generate outcome-evidence across resource-diverse settings and countries, ultimately to close the survival gap between limited and well-resourced settings. 66Dr. Sullivan holds PhD and MS degrees from UAB, and a BSN from Michigan State University.
