Cordelia Nnedu is a professor of nursing at Tuskegee University School of Nursing and Allied Health (TUSONAH). Dr. Nnedu is the chair of the research and grants committee, continuing education and international program for TUSONAH and chair of curriculum and evaluation for the department of nursing. She served as the Department Head for nine years and has a broad background in managing the care of women across the life span. She is a nurse-midwife, and loves taking care of women, regardless of who they are or where they come from. Her research interest involves finding measures to promote a positive pregnancy outcome. She developed the Future Nurses of America Organization (FNAO) mentorship program and secured over $3.9 million dollars in grant funds to support minority students who aspire to become professional nurses and has championed the expansion of learning opportunities which led to an increase in the nursing workforce, thus impacting healthcare outcomes. Dr. Nnedu is a Co-PI in a $2.3-million-dollar grant in the establishment of Tuskegee University Research Center for Rural Maternal, Child and Family Health. Dr. Nnedu holds a PhD from Auburn University, MSN from University of Alabama at Birmingham and BSN from University of Northern Colorado
