Chinomso U. Nwozichi is a certified oncology nurse, Certified Medical Surgical nurse and a tenure-track assistant professor of Nursing at Kennesaw State University, where he teaches advanced pathophysiology in the Nurse Practitioners and undergraduate programs. His primary research focuses on addressing cancer care inequity, including societal and educational constraints within the field of cancer care in Africa and globally. He has improved patient outcomes by developing evidence-based practice guidelines and research regarding oncology nursing and the care of underserved populations. Currently, he is working on a study to understand the effects of a partner-to-partner peer support group initiative in improving spousal support and quality of life among Nigerian women with breast and gynecological cancers. Another research program of his aims is to develop a multicomponent intervention to improve colorectal cancer screening and survivorship care among African immigrants in the State of Georgia. In the academic community, Dr. Nwozichi serves on the editorial board of six international oncology journals and provides content expertise in oncology in Africa and the USA. His work includes examining cancer care for persons with intellectual disabilities, nurses' roles in CAR-T therapy for B-cell malignancies, managing associated cytokine release syndrome, and addressing domestic violence among couples battling breast and gynecologic cancers in Africa. His impact transcends national and international levels, influencing over 122,000 oncology nurses and 11.2 million patients and relatives across countries like Nigeria, the Philippines, India, Ghana, and the USA. Dr. Nwozichi obtained his BNSc degree from Babcock University in Nigeria; MSc Nursing degree from Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences in India and PhD in Nursing degree from Silliman University in the Philippines.
