Chao Sun serves as the Director of Nursing Department in Beijing Hospital, China, which serves as both the National Center of Gerontology and National Clinical Research Center for Geriatric Medicine. She has over 20 years of experience in clinical nursing, management, education, and research. Her research interests focus on chronic disease management and function promotion in older adults. As the hospital's nursing team leader, she developed a nursing management system study, which emphasizes the importance of organization theory, and aims to enhance the professional and clinical skills of nurses. As a senior geriatric care expert and vice president of the China Geriatric Nursing Alliance, she participates in a collaborative research network that covers 25 provinces and nearly 80 medical institutions, community centers, and nursing homes. As an associate professor and graduate advisor at Peking Union Medical College and Beijing University of Chinese Medicine, she has supervised 11 postgraduate students and their research on early identification, functional assessments, and promotion for older adults at high risk of disability, including stroke patients, and those with frailty syndrome and mild cognitive impairment. Ms. Sun’s serial research has resulted in 15 national-level projects and produced nearly 60 papers, providing crucial data for healthy aging policies.
