Brittney J. van de Water is an Assistant Professor at Boston College in the Connell School of Nursing and the Associate Director of Pediatric Nursing at Seed Global Health. Dr. van de Water is a certified pediatric nurse practitioner and global health delivery researcher. Her research focuses on optimizing implementation of TB and TB/HIV interventions in low-resource settings and uptake of evidence-based strategies at large. She supports nurse capacity building at Seed Global Health through partnerships with universities in Uganda, Malawi, Zambia, and Sierra Leone. Dr. van de Water’s work centers on developing comprehensive TB care, leveraging routinely available data and cascade indicators to improve outcomes for high-risk populations (i.e., children, pregnant women, and people living with HIV), primarily in South Africa, as well as building health professional capacity in sub-Saharan Africa. She has led research funded by NIH, Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, and the Charles Hood Foundation to advance nursing science globally, and has received regional and national recognition for her research excellence. Dr. van de Water received her BS and MS from Boston College. She earned her PhD and doctoral certificate in global health from Duke University. She completed her Postdoctoral Fellowship at Harvard Medical School.
