Beverly J. Hancock serves as the Director of the Transformative Leadership DNP: Systems Program at Rush University College of Nursing where she is an assistant professor. She previously held the position of Senior Director for Leadership Development for the American Organization for Nursing Leadership (AONL), a membership organization of 12,500 nurse leaders serving the U.S. and abroad, where she created and developed comprehensive programming, resources, and opportunities to advance national and global leaders in all nursing roles. She was also previously the Magnet Program Director for Rush University Medical Center and a Magnet consultant for the ANCC. She is past president of the Wheaton College alumni board, serving as president and a board of trustees alumni representative through the COVID-19 pandemic. Dr. Hancock is an inaugural ambassador for the AARP Center for Health Equity through Nursing. She is co-editor and contributing author of the book Professional Governance for Nursing: The Framework for Accountability, Engagement, and Excellence (Start, Hancock, Porter-O’Grady, 2024). Dr. Hancock holds a DNP, MS in Nursing, and BSN from Rush University, and a BS from Wheaton College.
