Ayise Karadag is the Dean and Professor of nursing at Koç University School of Nursing, which became the first internationally accredited BSN program in Turkiye, under her leadership. Her research focuses on wound and ostomy care and developing nursing capacity equipped with skills and competency to provide wound and ostomy care (WOC). As a pioneer in WOC nursing, her crucial role through policy change in training and practice has been achieved by collaborations with the Ministry of Health and national healthcare/academic organizations. She has been instrumental in creating stoma therapy units in hospitals, Wound Management Courses for all healthcare professionals, and the WCET ® Enterostomal Therapy Nursing Education Program (ETNEP) in Turkiye. She has been widely published in national and international journals and books, including more than 100 publications in international scientific journals, more than 30 national journals (Turkiye), and almost 30 books or book chapters. Her work has been cited widely by the global scholar community. She holds BSN, MSN, and PhD from Hacettepe University, School of Nursing, Ankara, Turkiye and WOCN certificate in Cleveland, the USA.
