Angela S. Prestia

PhD, MSN, RN, NE-BC

Florida Atlantic University & Case Western Reserve University

Angela S. Prestia has devoted her professional nursing career to leadership. Her current status as author and professor is grounded in practice. She spent over 16 years of her 48-year career working as a Chief Nursing Officer at both Good Samaritan Medical Center and Jupiter Medical Center in Southeast Florida. Prior to those roles, she worked as the Administrative Director of Clinical Quality at St. Mary’s Medical Center. Currently, Dr. Prestia is an adjunct professor at the Christine E. Lynn College of Nursing, Florida Atlantic University and consultant for the Marion K. Shaughnessy Leadership Academy at Case Western Reserve University. In January 2024, Dr. Prestia released her first book entitled, Becoming the Chief Nurse: The Science, The Stories, The Truth. In April 2024, Dr. Prestia was inducted into the Florida Atlantic University Alumni Hall of Fame. This prestigious honor is awarded to only two alumni from the entire university each year. She is currently serving her second term as President of The Association for Leadership Science in Nursing (ALSN). Dr. Prestia holds a PhD from Florida Atlantic University, an MSN from Vanderbilt University, and a BSN from the University of West Florida. She is board-certified as a nurse executive from the American Nurses Association.
