Yvonne Yueh-Feng Lu is an Associate Professor at the Indiana University (IU) School of Nursing, Indianapolis, Indiana. Her research focuses on: 1) improving quality-of-life and preventing premature disability of patients with mild cognitive impairment through engagement in self-selected meaningful activities of daily living, nurse-led collaborative patients/caregivers planning and problem solving; 2) improving family caregiver quality-of-life and reducing burden by enhancing caregiving skills and fostering active listening; and 3) enhancing patient/family-caregiver collaboration to prepare for an uncertain future. Her work addresses the missions and priorities of the National Institute on Aging (NIA), National Institute of Nursing Research, and the 2015 National Plan to Address Alzheimer’s Disease. Grants supporting her work include: T32; R03; K01; R21 (PI); and R01 (PI); two P30AG01013 (Co-faculty); Indiana CTSI Community Health Engagement Program Research Award, Sigma Theta Tau International Nursing Honor Society, Alpha Chapter, and McWhirter Training/Internship Fellowship Fund. The impact of Dr. Lu’s research is far-reaching and cited in Nursing, Gerontology, Psychology, Physical Therapy and Occupational Therapy. She has an extensive interdisciplinary network through collaborations as faculty of the NIA-funded Indiana Alzheimer’s Disease Center and affiliated scientist at the IU Center for Aging Research. She also has a 4-year Data Agreement with Humana/Kindred-at-Home, one of largest home health service agencies in USA.

Dr. Lu received her BSN from the Bethel College; MS from the Wright State University; PhD from Case Western Reserve University; and postdoctoral fellowship from the Indiana University.
