Xiaomei Li is currently Dean and Professor, School of Nursing at Xi’an Jiaotong University, China.
Her research interests comprise psychosocial care, cancer care, and community health nursing. As a nursing scientist and educator in China, she has completed many important nursing research and education projects. She led a pioneer research project in stress and coping of nurses, initiated the first master program of community nursing in China and a research on bilingual nursing education and textbooks. As the Deputy Director of Chinese Nursing Psychology Committee, she has been promoting psychosocial care by leading and facilitating various psychosocial nursing research projects, giving hundreds of presentations to nurses, developing Apps for the public, and publishing 3 textbooks and more than 100 papers. She has also contributed significantly to psychosocial care standards and guidelines development for Chinese Psychological Society. As the Principal Investigator, she led various research projects sponsored by National Natural Science Foundation of China, WHO, Help Age International, China Medical Board, and other organizations nationally and internationally. Prof. Li has published more than 100 academic papers in national and international journals. She has acted as the chief and associate chief editor for 16 national nursing textbooks and has been awarded outstanding educators of Shaanxi province and university.
Prof. Li received her bachelor degree under WHO fellowship program in Nursing Science from La Trobe University, Australia, master degree in Nursing Science from Chiang Mai University, Thailand and Ph.D in Epidemiology and Health Statistics from Xi’an Jiaotong University.
