Lorie Goshin

Lorie S. Goshin is an Associate Professor of Nursing at Hunter College in the City University of New York.

Dr. Goshin’s research addresses the personal and family health consequences of criminal justice involvement, with a special focus on pregnant people and women with minor children. Her research has been cited in federal bills and national health care standards for incarcerated pregnant people, as well as in international publications on ways to preserve the maternal-child relationship when mothers face incarceration. Her current research evaluates supportive housing as a health-promoting alternative to jail for women with minor children.

Dr. Goshin received her MSN from the University of Texas at Austin and her PhD in nursing from Columbia University.
