Dr. Barbara Delmore is a board-certified wound care nurse and has been at NYU Langone Health for nearly 38 years. She is the Senior Nurse Scientist in the department of the Center for Innovations in the Advancement of Care (CIAC) under the Departments of Nursing. Additionally, Dr. Delmore is a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Hansjӧrg Wyss, Department of Plastic Surgery, NYU Grossman School of Medicine.
Dr. Delmore’s research program addresses risk factors that can precipitate pressure injury formation in the hospitalized patient. Over the course of her career, Dr. Delmore has authored and contributed to numerous publications including the International Guideline for the Prevention and Treatment of Pressure Ulcers/Pressure Injuries. She has served on several advisory boards as a key opinion leader and is frequently an invited speaker to present her research and other topics regarding skin and wound care. She is in her second term as a National Pressure Injury Advisory Panel Board of Director, serving as their co-chair for the Research Committee and Task Force on Policy Engagement with CMS & AHRQ. Dr. Delmore additionally serves on the Editorial Advisory Panel for Advances in Skin & Wound Care. Since 2014, Dr. Delmore has been a volunteer faculty member for WoundPedia, a non-profit organization, which provides skin and wound care education to clinicians around the world.
Dr. Delmore earned her BSN from Seton Hall University and MA and PhD in nursing from New York University. She received Master status in 2016 from the American Professional Wound Care Association.
