Loressa Cole’s career trajectory from nursing manager to executive roles in small and larger for-profit hospital systems, and eventual national leadership positions has led her to her current role as CEO of The American Nurses Association Enterprise.
As ANA’s CEO, Dr. Cole restructured the organization and led the development of the first Enterprise-wide strategic plan with a more focused resource plan devoted to health policy, professional practice environments, and social movement programs such as the Healthy Nurse Healthy Nation Grand Challenge and the End Nurse Abuse Campaign. More recently the ANA Enterprise has emerged as a national leader for nursing advocacy and support during the COVID-19 pandemic and provided a position statement and guidance for social justice in our current political climate.
Recognized this past year by Modern Healthcare as one of the “50 most influential clinical leaders” and “top 100 most influential people”, Loressa credits her leadership successes to the amazing teams she has had the privilege to lead across her career span.
Dr. Cole received her baccalaureate in nursing from Virginia Commonwealth University, a Masters in Business Administration from Averett University, and a Doctorate in Nursing Practice from Case Western Reserve University.
